With the addition of the Arkansas Research and Education Optical Network (ARE-ON), students can engage in information exchange with others anywhere in the world. There are also Research and Extension offices in Lonoke, Newport and Lake Village and collaborations with other colleges and universities in the State through the National Science Foundation funded STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Academy.

Department's Website:
Master’s degree in Counseling, Education, Student Affairs, or a related field from an accredited institution.
At least 2 years of experience in academic advising, student support services, or teaching in a higher education setting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and student information systems (e.g., Workday, Ellucian Banner, Degree Works).
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Commitment to student success and a student-centered approach.
Additional Information:
Experience teaching or coordinating General Studies or interdisciplinary programs.
Familiarity with academic policies and retention initiatives at HBCUs.
Knowledge of national trends in academic advising.
Office and classroom settings on UAPB’s campus.
Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for special programs or student support needs.
