The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture is a state wide campus, with faculty based on University campuses, at Research and Extension Centers and in every Arkansas county. It consists of the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station (AES) and the Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service (CES), and is home to more than 1400 employees. The Division was established in 1959 and is headed by the Vice-President for Agriculture. Minimum Qualifications:
- M.S. in plant pathology, nematology or related field is required, with expertise in nematode identification and management.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a diagnostics program, including direct interaction with clientele
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to obtain & interpret research information. Ability to anticipate changing trends in assigned discipline area & develop programs to address those changes. Knowledge of the principles & techniques of adult education. Knowledge of the program planning process. Ability to work effectively with a variety of professional & lay audiences. Ability to communicate & convey ideas effectively to faculty, stakeholder groups, & clientele. Physical & mental ability to effectively perform the duties & responsibilities of the job, including long & irregular hours of work & some in-state & out-of-state travel.
