Sr Cyber Ops Analyst

Description

Tyto Athene is searching for a Senior Cyber Operations Analyst located at Fort Meade, Maryland to support GSM-O II in providing for the integrity and security of cyber systems and networks for the Joint Force Headquarters – Department of Defense Information Networks (JFHQ-DODIN).

 

Responsibilities:

  • Engage DJOC leadership to enable synergy between HQ and the Regional Field Commands (RFCs) conducting operations through the development of working groups and/or participating and providing input to existing meetings. The contractor shall develop working group charters and track all action items assigned to all participants of any meetings or developed working groups.
  • Leverage expertise in cyber defense and collaborate with DISA engineers, stakeholders and subject matter experts at Ft Meade and the DJOC.
  • Evaluate current technologies and processes associated with DISA Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO) to identify gaps. The contractor shall provide evaluation reports.
  • Coordinate as required requirements and strategies for future cybersecurity operations. The contractor shall develop strategic reports supporting these requirements and strategies developed.
  • Be able to generate and provide both orders and staff level briefings.
  • Familiar with the use, configuration, and implementation of industry capabilities to include but not limited to: Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IP), Security Incident and Event Manager (SIEM), advanced log analysis, network monitoring, packet capture analysis, and UNIX command line.
  • Provide surge support in coordinating incident response across the enterprise as required
  • Provide analysis of architectures, technologies, policies, information, and data used to detect, prevent, and mitigate anomalous activity, vulnerabilities and inefficiencies.
  • Perform cyber situational awareness activities and provide analysis and recommendations of situation awareness capabilities.
  • Conduct analysis of enterprise cyber defensive strategies in order to enable operationally effective command and control.
  • Analyze policies for systems, hardware, software, cloud, network infrastructure in order to recommend methods and strategies that avoid or reduce impacts.
  • Provide operational assessments, analysis, recommendations, and enhancements to address Current Operations, Future Operations, and long term plans.
  • Provide proactive cyber security, incident management, and impact assessments based on enterprise cyber security capabilities implemented.
  • Monitor and recommend changes of various passive and active defensive capabilities, including detection methods, countermeasures, and mitigation strategies, to identify the most prudent, efficient, and supportable operational environment.
  • Develop defensive cyber operations strategies related to Cloud Security, Boundary Security (Gateways, Peering Points, Joint Regional Security Stacks, Internet Access Points), and Endpoint Security.
  • Develop metrics and measures and recommend standards to support assessments, process improvements, and operational efficiencies at HQ and across the DODIN.
  • Manage enterprise-wide malware analysis collaboration and sharing of Indicators of Compromise (IOCs)
  • Analyze and document the function, behavior, origin, and impact of malware samples; support the calculation of risk to the DODIN

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related field of study
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
  • DoD 8570 Compliant for IAM Level II or above: Possess a CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC, CCISO, or HCISPP certification
  • Understanding of defensive cyber operations/analysis (e.g., incident response and management, forensic media analysis, malware analysis/reverse-engineering, cyber threat intelligence analysis, etc.) and security architecture & engineering
  • In-depth knowledge of network and application protocols, cyber vulnerabilities and exploitation techniques, and cyber threat/adversary methodologies (TTPs)
  • Proficiency working with various types of network data (e.g., netflow, PCAP, custom application logs)
  • Experience with DISA and other DoD Networks.
  • Demonstrated experience briefing Senior Executive Service (SES) and General Officer/Flag Officer (GO/FO) leadership.
  • Experience with intelligence driven defense and/or Cyber Kill Chain methodology.

Clearance:

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI access.

Compensation:

  • Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically between $140K-$165K. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
