Role Overview and Responsibilities

• Implements the most effective and efficient manufacturing methods by coordinating with other departments and production team members. Plays a key role in all manufacturing cost reduction projects and daily projects. Serves as a champion to ensure lean manufacturing and 5S principles are implemented and followed. Assures work areas and equipment at facilities are set up in a safe and efficient manner.
• Plans and implements new programs and products into production in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Ensures compliance with current federal, state, and local regulations, including Hazardous Waste working with Engineering Manager as needed.
• Reviews set-up process on first production runs identifying potential problems with quality scrap, efficiencies, and tooling.
• Works with Engineering team to correct issues related to design.
• Follows workmanship standards working with Manufacturing and Quality Assurance.
• Assists in installing and set-up of new equipment. Identifies and provides cost and operational justification for new equipment and tooling needs
• Provides technical support to the production team to resolve concerns or problems with tooling, process capability, materials and efficiencies.
• Assists in complex machine programming.
• Monitors job performance reports to identify product not meeting expected performance. Evaluates process to identify root cause of variance including time studies, line balancing, tooling, lean manufacturing principles, motion studies, etc.
• Ensures compliance with current OHSA and EPA standards
• Other duties as required and/or assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Zero to five years of experience in Manufacturing Engineer Intern, Manufacturing Engineer or Industrial Engineer role in the manufacturing industry.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic systems.
• Preferred certifications: Green Belt and/or CSWA.
• Basic understanding of ISO.
• Basic understanding of OHSA.
• Demonstrates analytical expertise, including adeptness at root cause identification.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
• Enjoys and thrives working within a team environment.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.

Salary range is $535000 - $75,000/y DOE and benfits inlcude medica, dental, life insurance, STD, 401(k) , ESPP and PTO.
