Data Systems/Network Engineer
Skills
- Data and telemetry system engineering experience in operational/test environments
- Strong knowledge of network engineering including TCP/IP, UDP
- Proficient troubleshooting of Ethernet networks
- Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Aruba GUI and CLI
- Experience with Aruba Clearpass and Solarwinds Orion monitoring
- Configuration and troubleshooting of IP routing protocols BGP and OSPF
- Proficient in network protocols such as STP, IPsec, NAT, AAA, 802.1X
- Server administration skills on Windows and Linux
- Management of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS
- Server virtualization experience (VMware)
- Packet capture and traffic analysis tools like Wireshark and SPAN
Responsibilities
- Contribute to data and telemetry system architecture, testing, and operation for missions
- Support flight operations ensuring data system assets readiness
- Determine and optimize data flow based on customer and system needs
- Develop and maintain software tools as needed
- Develop and support telemetry, network, and data tests
- Collaborate with network engineers, telemetry technicians, and data engineers
- Manage corporate network infrastructure including switches, firewalls, routers, WiFi, NAC, and cloud products
- Provide expert network support and best practices to Engineering teams
- Be available as escalation point during tests and missions
- Rack, patch, label devices and maintain updated network documentation
- Utilize Change Control platforms for documentation
- Perform emergency network updates and troubleshoot network issues
- Maintain and upgrade vehicle, control room, and simulator systems
- Deploy and manage servers and workstations
- Administer network devices and VOIP
- Plan, manage, and implement projects
- Follow configuration control policies and document systems properly
- Travel to launch or recovery sites to support mission operations
Education
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
