What you’ll do:
As a Transplant Financial Counselor, you will guide transplant patients and their families through the financial aspects of care. You'll verify insurance coverage, coordinate with providers and insurers, and ensure patients understand their financial responsibilities. You’ll serve as a key resource for the transplant team, advocate for patients, and stay current on insurance policies to help secure timely authorizations and maximum reimbursement.

What you’ll need
Education
Required: High-school diploma plus relevant training gained through work experience or education
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree—or equivalent work experience—in business, finance, or accounting
Experience
Required: 1–2 years of related experience (e.g., registration, billing/reimbursement, social work, collections, or managed care)
Preferred: 3–5 years in similar roles, ideally within a transplant or acute-care environment
Skills & Knowledge
Working knowledge of commercial and governmental insurance regulations, with a focus on organ transplantation
Ability to analyze complex benefit structures, secure authorizations, and maximize reimbursement
Exceptional communication and customer-service skills when educating and advocating for patients and families
Proven collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced clinical settings
Compensation:
Pay Range: $19.07- $29.55 per hour
Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
