Senior Consultant - Data Engineer
Skills
- Proficient in SQL and experienced designing efficient queries for large datasets
- Strong Python scripting for ETL/ELT and automation
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow
- Familiarity with dbt for transformations and modular pipelines
- Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka) and event-driven ingestion
- Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable)
- Knowledge of data warehousing platforms (Synapse, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
- Experience with BI/reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker
- Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance tools (Purview, Collibra, Unity Catalog)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with data consumers to design intuitive, scalable data models and usage-driven data products
- Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for batch and real-time ingestion into cloud data lakes/warehouses
- Implement and maintain data integration, transformation, and orchestration (Airflow, dbt, etc.)
- Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance through metadata, definitions, and validation processes
- Optimize query performance and data storage strategies across large-scale datasets
- Participate in code reviews and enforce engineering best practices and documentation standards
- Provide production support and monitor reliability of data workflows
- Define KPIs to measure pipeline efficiency, quality, and reliability
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
- Relevant certifications (optional but beneficial)
