Position: Accountant
Location: Annapolis Junction, MD 20701
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Position Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Salary: $50,000 - $55,000
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to support daily financial operations and contribute to the success of our finance team. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit to manage day-to-day accounting functions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable transactions accurately and in a timely manner
- Match invoices to purchase orders and packing slip documents
- Prepare and maintain financial records and invoices
- Enter vendor bills, employee expenses, and credit card transactions into QuickBooks
- Perform data entry and ensure accuracy in accounting systems
- Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve billing or payment discrepancies
- Maintain and organize financial documentation for audits and compliance purposes
- Assist in tracking equipment and material purchases to appropriate jobs
- Collaborate with the finance team on projects and administrative tasks
- Perform other relevant accounting duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of professional accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the manufacturing or construction industry
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Frequent repetitive motions
- Ability to walk, climb stairs, sit, stand, talk, and hear at normal levels
- Visual ability to see close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth; ability to adjust focus
- Ability to reach with hands and arms; use hands and fingers to operate tools and office equipment
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $50,000 – $55,000 per year
Compensation is determined by several factors, including education, experience, technical expertise, and organizational requirements.
