Machine Learning, Platform Engineer
Skills
- 5+ years building large-scale, fault-tolerant distributed systems and API microservices
- Expert-level programming in one or more: Golang, Rust, Python, C++, or Haskell
- Strong understanding of OS concepts (concurrency, networking, storage), performance and scaling
- Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration systems
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)
- Experience designing for efficiency, scalability, and stability of system resources
- Operational experience (on-call, incident response, debugging distributed production systems)
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate multi-cluster orchestration, control planes, and APIs for model deployment and inference
- Optimize autoscaling, reduce cold starts, and improve end-to-end inference performance and resource efficiency
- Implement and maintain inference worker SDKs, CLI tools, and deployment management systems
- Analyze and improve robustness, scalability, and stability of distributed systems, APIs, databases, and infrastructure
- Partner with product and research teams to translate requirements into reliable, production-ready solutions
- Write clear, well-tested software and Infrastructure as Code; perform design/code reviews and produce developer documentation
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident response for production inference systems
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
