Senior Business Applications Analyst - Epic Cadence and Prelude

Job Description

Join one of the nation’s most comprehensive academic medical centers, UChicago Medicine, as a Senior Business Applications Analyst - Epic Cadence and Prelude with the Community Connect Team in the Information Technology department. This is a remote, work from home opportunity that may require some travel during project milestones such as Go-lives. 

UCM Community Connect provides independent providers and healthcare organizations with a unified and integrated patient record to support patient care, while leveraging the shared resources and expertise of an experienced Epic organization such as UCM. 

In this role, and under general direction, the Senior Business Applications Analyst - Epic Cadence formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a good understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. 

Essential Job Functions 

• Design, build, and test Applications to address complex business requests 

• Utilize expertise in Cadence Applications to streamline scheduling, referral and registrations processes, improving patient access and experience.  

• Analyzes business and user needs, documentation of requirements and workflows  

• Troubleshoot and fix complex application issues 

• On-call support 

• Guide and mentor less-experienced Business System Analysts 

• Competent to work at the highest technical level of most phases of systems analysis while considering the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment 

Qualifications 

• Implement, maintain and support Epic Patient Access Tools – Cadence, Prelude, MyChart, Welcome or related tools as applicable 

• Participate in architecture, design and integration aspects of the relevant patient access tools and associated development and enhancement lifecycle 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant certification in healthcare, business management or information systems is required 

• Epic Cadence certification is required 

• Epic Prelude certification is required 

• Epic MyChart certification is a plus 

• Minimum of four years’ experience with information system software solutions 

• Solid understanding of underlying technologies: hardware, networking, Intranet, Internet, PDA, bar coding and wireless 

• Experience with multiple software applications, systems analysis/design, Integration/design, or web applications/design 

• Must have issue tracking and resolution skills 

• Must be able to prioritize, organize, and assess work to meet aggressive deadlines and to cope in a fast-paced environment 

• Familiarity with tools and concepts of process improvement desired, including the following: methods analysis, work sampling, statistical analysis, financial analysis, and systems analysis 

• Experience developing presentations for project work 

• Capable of working well in a diverse, multi-disciplinary team and successfully interacting with others at all levels of the organization, including remote teams 

• Solid skills in documenting and analyzing business processes 

• Proven skills in problem solving 

• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, and effective presentation skills 

• Ability to plan and facilitate meetings with diverse participants 

• Ability to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor in both normal and pressure situations 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Community Connect experience 

• Epic Certifications in Outpatient Clinical, Patient Access or Revenue Cycle application

Compensation & Benefits Overview

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits.  The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
