BigFuture brings together a trusted community to help every learner own their future. The BigFuture Community team is responsible for resources, content and go-to-market efforts toreach and engageteens, parents and other caring adults, and K-12 educators.Our authentic, trusted content featuring experts demystifies the college and career planning process. Our resources include BigFuture Scholarships ($23+ million to over 24Kteens since 2019), the College Board National Recognition Program (280K students recognized for academic achievement in 2025); andBigFuture Ambassadors (community of thousands of high school students who share free college and career resources). The teamcoordinatescross-functional go-to-market efforts to reach and engageK-12, students and families.

About the Opportunity

As Senior Director, Community Content Strategy, you will be responsible forthe content ecosystem underlyingBigFutureproducts, which engage over 15 million unique users a year. In partnership with the Product and Technology teams, you’llshape our content-as-product strategyto support personalized exploration on BigFuture.org. You’ll lead editorial strategyforcontentserved throughout our product, first in a searchable content library and eventually AI-enabled conversation and alongside tools. You and your team willrapidly create high volume, information-rich, authenticvideo and text content. You’llset and maintain a high bar forcontent as a player-coach managing staff.

Roles and Responsibilities 

Strategic Editorial Leadership of Content for Product (35%)

  • Align community content with the BigFuture product vision and roadmap for personalized exploration 
  • Own an editorial roadmap for multimedia content for the BigFuture.org product, informed by student and parent needs, business goals and landscape trends
  • Oversee research and defineobjectives, messaging and approach forcommunity content generation
  • Define ambitious quantitative goals for content, track KPI’s, diagnose opportunities and gaps, and ensure robust tracking systems in partnership with Web Analytics
  • Manage user research and feedback systems to gauge needs, surface use cases and refine content
  • Strategically curate and serve content via a content management system to drive log-ins and other product engagement metrics

Production Systems and Quality of Content for Product (35%)

  • Prioritize and manage community team’s backlog of content concepts and editorial calendar to drive timely, consistent and rapid content creation
  • Establish and refine robust processes and systems to plan, create and review high-quality content
  • As content lead, set staff expectations and screen all content for quality, accuracy and alignment with brand positioning, voice and style guidance
  • As player-coach, regularly implement all aspects of content production, including research, planning, interviewing and partnering with production teams while simultaneously managing the community content team
  • Manage vendor relationships and systems to ensure economical, efficient delivery of content 

Cross-functional Leadership and Team Management (30%)

  • Surface content-as-product needs to Product and Tech teams and consult throughout discovery, design and implementation processes 
  • Surface go-to-market needs and outcomes and track cross-functional efforts to grow audiences, expand reach and strengthen the BigFuture brand
  • In partnership with Engagement and Reach Team, set direction and provide feedback to promote BigFuturecontent across multiple channels
  • As manager of community content staff, own all aspects of team and peopledevelopment (prioritization, expectations, evaluation, and attraction of new talent)

Preferred Skills and Attributes

  • 7+ years managing content systems and creationin partnership with product teams
  • Excellent writer capable of rapid, high-volume generation of accurate, compelling content
  • Experience in content strategy and multimedia creation, including video, articles and graphics
  • Experience-driven intuition to engage Gen Z/Gen Alpha in meaningful college/career exploration
  • 2+ years of experience as a people manager or as project lead in matrix environment 
  • Strong quantitative orientation to routinely diagnose, prioritize and assess 
  • Strong emotional intelligence to reach outcomes via cross-functional partnerships
  • Experience tracking and managing KPI’s with Adobe Analytics, Tableauand other tools
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Experience managing team workflows via Monday.com or similar tools
  • Deep experience leveraging Drupal or similar content management systems
  • Strong management instincts or experience to maintain a high bar for quality and efficiency

About Our Process

  • The hiring range for this role is $96,000 – $150,000
