Responsibilities
- Maintain familiarity with FWPD General Orders, SOPs, Tactical Guides, and best policing practices.
- Analyze Internal Affairs reports to identify trends in behavior, use of force, and misconduct and draft detailed summaries.
- Prepare recommendations for leadership on discipline and training based on analysis.
- Research and monitor local, state, and federal legislation, ordinances, and agreements affecting law enforcement.
- Participate in special projects and policy research to inform reform and best practices.
- Process complaints/commendations and compile demographic and incident data for reporting.
- Produce periodic analytical reports including tables, charts, and graphs.
- Draft policy briefs, research memoranda, and presentations that clearly communicate complex analyses and recommendations.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Finance, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited college or university
- Ability to pass and maintain CJIS fingerprint-based background check
- Candidates without the degree may be considered with equivalent relevant work experience
