Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Nurse Manager of Emergency Services to lead operations in a high-acuity emergency department, including oversight of both a main ED and a free-standing ED. This role carries 24-hour accountability for patient care, staff engagement, and performance improvement. Key Responsibilities
Provide 24/7 leadership and accountability for the main ED and free-standing ED
Oversee ~65 FTEs across 30+ emergency beds plus an 8-bed FSED
Ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality nursing care for diverse patient populations
Collaborate with physicians, staff, and leadership to optimize patient outcomes
Manage staffing, scheduling, budgets, and departmental resources
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with standards and regulations
Foster a culture of excellence, safety, and staff development
Qualifications
Required:
BSN degree (MSN preferred)
Active RN license in Texas or Compact state
Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ER leadership/supervisor experience
Current clinical practice within the last 3 years
BLS and ACLS certifications (must be maintained)
PALS or ENPC certification (or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire)
Preferred:
National specialty certification (CEN, CNRN, CCRN, or equivalent)
Prior leadership experience in large ED settings
