Skills
- 7+ years backend engineering experience building high-scale systems.
- 6+ years hands-on Kotlin and Java experience in enterprise/high-throughput environments.
- Strong concurrency and thread-safety skills (coroutines and/or virtual threads).
- Experience with event-driven/message-based systems (Kafka/MSK) and distributed patterns.
- Terraform for provisioning and tuning cloud infrastructure (AWS EKS, RDS, MSK).
- Experience with high-volume third-party API integrations and resilience strategies.
- Database optimization experience (PostgreSQL and/or Cassandra).
- Testing discipline across microservices including load and resilience testing.
- Familiarity with secure integration patterns (mTLS, OAuth2).
- Fluent English communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain production-grade backend services using Kotlin and Java.
- Build and operate event-driven / message-based architectures (Kafka/MSK or equivalent).
- Implement concurrency-safe solutions (coroutines and/or virtual threads) and optimize for high throughput.
- Provision and tune cloud infrastructure (AWS EKS, RDS, MSK or similar) using Terraform.
- Develop resilient third-party API integrations with throttling, backpressure, and retry strategies.
- Optimize write-heavy data stores (PostgreSQL and/or Cassandra) including indexing and connection pooling.
- Drive testing strategy across microservices (unit, integration, performance, and resilience testing).
- Implement secure multi-tenant integrations (mTLS, OAuth2, token rotation).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile/DevOps environments and mentor peers.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
