Responsibilities
- Strategically lead, inspire and manage the news department and on-air/digital teams
- Oversee on-air newscasts, digital content, social distribution and OTT streaming
- Develop and execute content strategies using consumer analytics to grow local audience
- Foster collaboration between TV, digital, marketing and product teams for cross-platform programming
- Encourage enterprise, investigative and community-focused reporting
- Coach, mentor and develop newsroom talent and promote an inclusive culture
- Make editorial decisions during breaking news and rapidly changing events
- Prioritize research-driven journalism and credibility in reporting
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet station and company goals
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field (required)
