Responsibilities
- Perform authoritative live shots during developing or breaking news
- Develop and pitch story ideas and enterprise reporting
- Research and verify facts to ensure credibility
- Shoot, write, produce and edit content for on-air and online delivery
- Mine the community and maintain sources to deepen reporting
- Use social media and digital tools to discover, produce and distribute content
- Use creative production techniques (graphics, viewer content, webcam interviews) to enhance stories
- Attend editorial meetings and contribute story ideas daily
- Operate news gathering vehicle and travel to story locations as needed
- Work within deadlines and calmly handle changing events
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or related field preferred
- Relevant newsroom experience (reporting/production) preferred
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate news vehicle
