Texas Card House is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Vice President of Finance to lead our financial operations and support our continued growth. Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP of Finance will be a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for all aspects of financial planning, analysis, accounting, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of financial leadership in a multi-unit retail, hospitality, or entertainment environment, with a strong understanding of the unique financial considerations of the gaming industry.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy & Planning:
    • Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives and growth plans.
    • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, working collaboratively with department heads to establish financial targets.
    • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, providing actionable insights to senior leadership.
    • Develop and maintain robust financial models for strategic initiatives, including new club openings, capital expenditures, and potential acquisitions.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
    • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in accordance with GAAP.
    • Develop and present comprehensive financial reports to the CEO, Board of Directors, and other stakeholders.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular performance analysis, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions.
    • Manage cash flow, ensuring optimal liquidity and efficient use of capital.
  • Accounting & Operations:
    • Direct all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and regulatory requirements specific to the gaming industry.
    • Oversee internal controls and implement best practices to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
    • Streamline financial processes and leverage technology to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth within the finance department.
  • Banking & Investor Relations:
    • Manage banking relationships and optimize credit facilities.
    • Assist in due diligence and financial modeling for potential investors or financing rounds.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify and mitigate financial risks, including operational, market, and credit risks.
    • Ensure proper insurance coverage and compliance.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management role (e.g., VP of Finance, Director of Finance, Controller).
  • Demonstrated experience in a multi-unit retail, hospitality, or entertainment business with significant transaction volume.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute financial strategies that support business growth.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, financial planning software).
  • Experience with ERP systems and accounting software (specific experience with systems relevant to multi-location businesses is a plus).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
  • Ability to travel periodically to Texas Card House locations across Texas.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the entertainment, gaming or card room industry, even if it's not direct casino experience, understanding the unique cash handling, compliance, and regulatory aspects is a significant plus.
