PURPOSE
The Division of Research and Innovation (R&I) at Texas A&M University-Corpus is seeking a dynamic, detail- oriented Research and Reporting Analyst to oversee the administration and optimization of our research support platforms and lead our data analytics initiatives. This role is critical to the university’s mission to support research growth, strategic planning, and operational efficiencies across campus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Research Systems Administrator: 45%
Serves as the TAMU-CC administrator and Texas A&M System liaison for Maestro, an internal research management system
Integrates Maestro into other university workflows to improve accuracy and efficiency of data
Provides training and support for users
Manages additional internal research software programs, such as programs used to find funding opportunities (GrantForward, Candid, Pivot), manages internal grant competitions (InfoReady), and data analysis software (NVIVO) available to campus
Monitors system data for gaps and inconsistencies and recommend solutions for improved data accuracy
Research Reporting and Analytics: 45%
Ensures data reported is accurate through working with additional offices and units across campus, including the Office of Sponsored Research Administration
Collaborates with offices across campus to prepare and validate institutional research data for the NSF HERD survey and other federal and internal reporting requirements
Designs and develops regular and ad hoc reports and visualizations to support strategic decision-making and identifying opportunities for research growth
Special Projects: 10%
Leads or participates in initiatives to advance the Division of Research & Innovation’s mission and/or to improve operational efficiencies in research support
Leads the development of tools, such as Chatbots, to streamline common inquiries and enhance research support
Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, data analytics, or related field
Two (2) years of experience working with research management systems or related experience.
Additional education/experience may be used as a substitute for the minimum requirements:
Associate’s Degree in information systems, data analytics, or related field and Four (4) years of experience working with research management systems or related experience, OR
Master’s Degree in information systems, data analytics, or related field
Ability to interpret, manage, and present research data for various audiences

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Doctoral degree in information systems, data analytics, or related field
Experience working in higher education research or sponsored programs offices
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple systems and support across different teams
Familiarity with chatbot platforms or web-based automation tools
Knowledge of NSF HERD survey requirements or experience supporting institutional research reporting
SALARY: Up to $5,000.00 Monthly ($60,000.00 Annual, Approximately)
