Outside Sales Representative, Lighting
(New Jersey Territory)
Our client is a growing Lighting company in the NYC Metro on a mission to be the number one Lighting Distributor in the Tri-state area. They're looking for a well-connected Outside Sales Representative to be one of the founding members of their Sales team.
Core Responsibilities
• Proactively prospecting and establishing new client relationships within the construction and development ecosystem (Developers, GCs, ECs, etc.) within the New Jersey territory
• Managing the full sales cycle, from lead generation to closing
• Following up consistently on submitted bids to drive conversions and address client concerns
• Collaborating with the estimating team to ensure timely and accurate bid submissions
• Working closely with clients to provide alternate product solutions based on design intent, availability, or budget constraints (value engineering)
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date information in the CRM, including contacts, bid details, and follow-up activity
• Building deep product knowledge of the lighting, controls, and related offerings Catapult provides
• Liaising with manufacturers and reps to secure competitive pricing and meet client budget targets
• Coordinating internally with project management and logistics teams to ensure smooth project handoff and execution
• Attending job site meetings or walkthroughs as necessary to support sales efforts
• Meeting or exceeding monthly and quarterly sales quota
Minimum Qualifications
• 3 yrs Outside Sales Experience in Lighting and/or Commercial Construction Supplies
• Full lifecycle New Business Sales Experience from prospecting to close
• Demonstrated success meeting and exciting sales quotas
• Experience using and maintaining accurate and up-to-date information in the CRM, including contacts, bid details, and follow-up activity
• Have personal transportation and the ability to travel throughout assigned territory
• Attending job site meetings or walkthroughs as necessary to support sales efforts
Compensation
• $180k - $200k annually uncapped based on obtainment of sales quota
