Skills
- Practical experience with PCBs, laminates, electrochemical processes, or microelectronics fabrication
- Knowledge of supplier quality frameworks (PPAP, APQP) and quality systems (AS9100/NADCAP/ISO)
- Statistical techniques: SPC, DOE, Six Sigma, yield analysis
- Structured problem solving (8D, RCCA) and root-cause analysis
- Experience implementing process controls and production qualifications
- Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (25–60%) and work extended hours when needed
- Cross-functional collaboration and supplier-facing influencing skills
Responsibilities
- Own continuity of supply for PCBs and PCB components on the Starshield program.
- Collaborate with design, R&D, supply chain, reliability, and production teams to manage supplier performance and deliver production-ready hardware.
- Evaluate, audit, and onboard new PCB and component suppliers; implement supplier quality flow-downs.
- Develop and monitor process controls and critical characteristic control plans at suppliers.
- Implement and manage supplier PPAP and qualification activities to enable rate production.
- Drive supplier root-cause analyses, corrective actions, and containment for quality escapes.
- Analyze supplier quality and delivery metrics; identify trends and lead improvement plans.
- Recommend product/process improvements to reduce defects, costs, and cycle time.
- Act as liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to resolve issues.
- Lead projects and present technical reports to internal teams, management, and suppliers.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (required)
- Advanced degree in engineering, business, or supply chain (preferred)
