Software Development Engineer in Test III (SDET III)
Skills
- Proficiency in JavaScript and/or Node.js
- Experience with test automation frameworks such as WebDriverIO, Cypress, or Mocha
- Strong API and/or UI automation experience
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems and troubleshooting build/test pipelines
- Experience using AI-assisted developer tools and evaluating GenAI for testing
- Knowledge of test design techniques, QA methodologies, and accessibility testing
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and expand Bitly’s automation solutions for API and UI testing
- Leverage AI-assisted tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to accelerate test generation, scaffolding, and defect triage
- Evaluate and integrate GenAI testing solutions to reduce repetitive work and improve coverage
- Design comprehensive test plans for new features and contribute to internal QA guidelines and responsible AI use
- Maintain and validate automated test suites, manual regression suites, and test reporting to stakeholders
- Troubleshoot CI pipelines and determine root causes for production issues
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent practical experience
- Continued professional development in test automation and modern QA tools preferred
