- Software engineering proficiency in languages such as Python, C++, or Go
- Experience designing and implementing security for OS, distributed systems, or large-scale infrastructure
- Applied cryptography knowledge and secure system design
- Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP) and network security
- Familiarity with security hardware (TPM, HSM) and secure boot concepts
- Experience with vulnerability research, incident response, or adversary detection
- Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills
Responsibilities
- Design and build security infrastructure and cryptographic services for Starlink systems
- Develop security features for routers, user dishes, gateways, and satellites
- Integrate security into factory processes and provide supporting network services
- Maintain and improve production security systems; propose and implement mitigations
- Prototype, test, and evaluate security improvements and new designs
- Perform threat modeling, vulnerability analysis, and coordinate remediation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering teams to incorporate security requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another STEM discipline preferred
- Alternatively, equivalent professional experience in security software development is acceptable
- Advanced technical degree (MS/PhD) is a plus
