- Networking protocols and traffic types (TCP, IPv4, IPv6, voice, video, streaming).
- Linux systems administration and troubleshooting.

- Experience with network automation frameworks and configuration management.
- Monitoring and observability tooling for network performance (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
- Ability to work with mission-critical and sensitive systems and maintain appropriate operational urgency.
Responsibilities
- Deploy, upgrade, operate, maintain, and scale the ground networking service for government customers (Access, Backbone, Edge).
- Collaborate with software engineers to design highly operable and maintainable infrastructure and tooling.
- Measure, maintain, and improve uptime and performance of the terrestrial network.
- Serve as technical product owner for infrastructure tools and software used in the ground network.
- Design and implement automation to scale operations and manage large numbers of network assets.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers and participate in on-call rotations.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a science discipline OR
- 2+ years of professional experience in network automation, DevOps, network engineering, or site reliability engineering in lieu of a degree

- Base salary range $120,000 – $170,000 (level-dependent) with potential long-term incentives (stock/options/cash awards).
