SpaceX is developing the technologies to enable human life on Mars and deliver global connectivity through Starlink. We are seeking a seasoned Cinematographer II to elevate our video storytelling for major missions and services, executing creative visions on-location and collaborating across engineering and communications teams to capture high-quality, mission-critical content.

Skills

  • Proficient operation of professional camera and lighting equipment
  • Strong visual storytelling and cinematography technique
  • Experience producing content for global clients and brands
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work on-location in fast-paced, mission-driven environments
  • Portfolio demonstrating high-quality cinematography work

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic cinematography vision to enhance video quality across major missions
  • Lead cinematography efforts for launch and mission coverage, ensuring visual storytelling and technical excellence
  • Plan and execute shot lists, lighting setups, and camera operation for mission-critical documentation
  • Capture content that demonstrates Starlink's global connectivity impact and SpaceX mission achievements
  • Maintain, organize, and ensure optimal functionality of camera and lighting equipment
  • Collaborate with engineers, communications, external partners, and cross-functional teams to coordinate shoots
  • Support weekend and launch operations as required and travel for on-location shoots

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in cinematography, film production, or visual arts
