Additive Manufacturing Engineer (Raptor)
Skills
- Bachelor’s in engineering (required)
- Hands-on fabrication, assembly, testing, or project experience
- Experience with additive machine operation, parameter development, and process control
- Familiarity with metal additive and subtractive manufacturing and joining techniques
- Understanding of optics/lasers and materials behavior (especially titanium and nickel alloys)
- Data collection and analysis for process monitoring
- Ability to perform engineering trade studies and apply fundamentals (thermo/fluids/mechanics)
- Strong written and verbal communication
Responsibilities
- Identify and lead projects to improve printer platform robustness and repeatability
- Design, develop, and test additive processes using powder-bed and powder-fed approaches
- Implement continual process improvements across the additive workflow
- Collaborate with design teams to optimize parts for additive manufacturing
- Generate and optimize build files for consistent, high-quality parts and efficient build time
- Work with materials engineers to develop print parameters, heat treatments, and design allowables
- Develop and maintain systems for efficient process data collection and analysis
- Document best practices for new equipment and processes
- Identify and implement safety improvements across the additive process
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (required)
- Master’s degree in aeronautical, astronautical, or mechanical engineering (preferred)

- Base salary range $95,000–$130,000 depending on level and experience
