International Sales and Sub-Rights Coordinator

Help our books travel the world. We’re looking for a proactive coordinator with a knack for details who’s excited to learn and grow in rights and international sales—and help us get more books into readers’ hands globally.

You’ll coordinate the flow of international rights and sales from pitch to post-sale: tracking submissions, supporting title pitches, prepping rights/sales materials for fairs and meetings, and keeping partners informed. This role is perfect for a detail-obsessed self-starter with 1+ year in rights or international sales who loves cross-team collaboration and wants visible impact.

This is an hourly, non-exempt position that pays $24.04/hourly.  We determine starting pay based on a thorough evaluation of job-related factors, including geographic location, market conditions, relevant experience, training, and education. This process ensures a fair and competitive salary that aligns with both the company and the candidate’s qualifications.

This position can be hybrid in Naperville or NYC, or fully remote in the following states ONLY: Arizona, Connecticut, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin.  Travel not required but there may be opportunities to attend industry conferences.

What you’ll do:
  • Track submissions, help pitch titles, and coordinate rights deals with domestic + international partners.
  • Build/update rights guides, catalogs, and decks for fairs, sales conferences, and distributor meetings.
  • Team up with Production, Art, Editorial, and Marketing to deliver files, credits, permissions, and cover/interior materials.
  • Support international sales ops (reports, data pulls, logistics, rolling pub schedules, ARCs, cover reveals).
  • Manage co-op marketing programs with Accounting and keep grids/credit memos tidy.
  • Fulfill sample requests and route materials for author/editor approvals.
  • Keep co-agents, international reps, and licensees in the loop—quickly and clearly.
You’ll thrive here if you have
  • 1+ year in subsidiary rights or international sales (publishing a plus).
  • Eagle-eyed attention to detail, strong problem-solving and negotiation chops.
  • Clear writing/presentation skills and a self-starter mindset in a fast, creative environment.
  • Bonus: SAP experience and/or a second language.
  • A strong Growth Mindset.
  • Must Love Books!
