Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior ServiceNow Developer to lead the development and optimization of SHI’s ServiceNow platform. This role is critical to delivering scalable, enterprise-grade solutions that support ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, and other key modules. The Senior Developer will lead a dedicated scrum pod, driving technical excellence, sprint execution, and continuous improvement across the platform.

This position reports to the Sr. Director of Business Systems and is preferred to be in Austin, TX or Somerset, NJ but remote candidates will be considered.

Role Description

  • Lead a dedicated ServiceNow scrum pod, overseeing sprint planning, backlog grooming, and technical delivery.

  • Design, develop, and maintain ServiceNow applications and modules (ITSM, ITOM, ITAM), with a strong focus on Flow Designer and automation.

  • Architect and implement integrations with external systems using APIs and middleware.

  • Collaborate with product owners, architects, and stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.

  • Ensure platform stability, performance, and upgradability through best practices and minimal customization.

  • Maintain and enhance service catalog items, workflows, and user experiences.

  • Stay current with ServiceNow releases and proactively recommend platform improvements.

  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to platform governance and standards.

  • Ensure all development work aligns with ITIL v4 principles and SHI’s internal processes.

  • Deliver high-quality solutions within defined SLAs and KPIs.

Skill Level Requirements

  • Demonstrated deep technical knowledge and proficiency in multiple technology areas to provide expert guidance and solutions. - Intermediate

  • In-depth understanding of the structured practices and workflows involved in the software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering and coding to testing and deployment. - Intermediate

  • Experience in using HTML and CSS for web design and development tasks. - Intermediate

  • Ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks and adapt to rapid changes in a dynamic work environment. - Intermediate

  • The ability to effectively analyze information, identify patterns, and draw insightful conclusions - Intermediate

  • The capability to efficiently prioritize tasks and meet time-sensitive objectives. - Intermediate



Other Requirements

  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant work experience required

  • 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience, including ITSM, ITOM, and ITAM.

  • Proven leadership of agile development teams or scrum pods.

  • Strong experience with Flow Designer, scripting (JavaScript), and web technologies (HTML, XML, CSS, AJAX).

  • Experience with ServiceNow integrations and third-party system connectivity.

  • Familiarity with ITIL v4 framework and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver scalable, maintainable solutions in an enterprise environment.

The estimated annual pay range for this position is $140,000 - $190,000 which includes a base salary. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
