Sr. Web Developer
Location: 100% Remote (US Only)
Compensation: $120,000 - $130,000
Reports to: Technology
The Sr. Web Developer plays a critical part in owning our entire website lifecycle by architecting, coding, launching, and overseeing day-to-day operations of web properties. You’ll turn loose product and marketing ideas into robust, secure, and scalable sites. With experience in WordPress, .Net and exposure or direct development in React, you will be responsible for taking approved website and landing page concepts and developing them to be fully functional, error-free, and fully responsive experiences. This would include responsibility for conducting rigorous quality assurance testing and demonstration. Ideally you have a strong understanding of UI/UX and work well with design and SEO team members to deliver high-end deliverables. You take ownership of the success of website projects and will share input in the fields of technical SEO and UI/UX in order to deliver only the best to our clients, The Veteran Community. This role seeks a proactive and collaborative professional with hands-on experience translating creative visions into web-based technical implementations and integrating back-end technologies.
What you will do:
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into technical requirements, project plans, and timelines.
Architect and build full websites from scratch, including front-end layouts, back-end logic, and database structures.
Work closely with other engineers, designers, and leadership to build, test, and deploy new features and products, creating the most effective and efficient web applications with well-documented code.
Develop responsive, mobile-first interfaces that meet accessibility and cross-browser standards.
Optimize page load speed, SEO fundamentals, and overall site performance through code, caching, and asset management.
Implement and monitor security and data protection best practices, and monitor and reduce cyber security risk.
Manage release pipelines, version control, and automated deployments
Track site health via analytics and uptime tools; troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly.

What you will bring:
Extensive expertise with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks.
Taking website designs in Figma into custom WordPress websites or pages while following industry-standard processes.
Implementing on-site SEO tasks directed by the internal SEO team.
Updating and maintaining existing client WordPress websites (plugins, core files, and resolving errors).
Strong back-end skills building REST APIs, databases, and server-side logic.
Consistently optimizes performance, Core Web Vitals, and on-page SEO factors.
Conducting rigorous quality assurance testing before deploying website changes to staging and production environments.
Working with the marketing team to update and deploy related website updates to client sites.
Troubleshooting website errors and tackling custom website projects.
Increasing site speed to meet SEO requirements.
Implements thorough security hardening, patching, and vulnerability mitigation.
Communicates technical choices clearly to designers, marketers, and leadership.
Diagnoses and resolves cross-browser compatibility and rendering issues.
Self-driven owner who guides projects from concept through launch and upkeep.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across design, development, and marketing teams
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
5+ years of hands-on web-development experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Public portfolio/GitHub showcasing responsive, production-ready sites and clean, well-documented code.
