Company/Location Overview

Barton 1792 Distillery was established in 1879 and continues today as the oldest fully-operating Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky. Situated in heart of bourbon country on 196 acres, the Distillery boasts 29 barrel aging warehouses, 22 other buildings including an impressive still house, and the legendary Tom Moore Spring. Barton 1792 Distillery is named in honor of the year Kentucky joined the United States.

Job Description/Responsibilities

The Distillery and Facilities Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing maintenance and reliability across the fabric of the plant (~200 acres, Distillery, and Barrel Warehouses).  Duties include coordinating and directing the Maintenance and Engineering departments to identify and resolve problems and develop and execute effective and efficient processes. Work side-by-side with Engineering on capital projects & planning, ensuring plant performance meets and exceeds KPIs. At Barton 1792 Distillery, we believe our people are our greatest asset. • Manage plant-wide preventative and restorative maintenance including the fabric of the facility, to ensure that the Distillery, Barrel Warehouse, Processing, Power Plant, and Shipping operations achieve high efficiency and quality.  Be an active member of tracking and reducing unplanned equipment downtime, providing maintenance expertise to analyze and resolve problems. Drive continuous improvement efforts within the Plant Maintenance department utilizing lean principles
• Responsible for managing Maintenance Supervisors to achieve target & stretch plans. This role supports various department managers to accomplish Safety objectives, Quality Standards, Company Policies, Good Manufacturing practices and Production requirements within specified budgets. Trains, monitors, evaluates, and develops all Maintenance team members. Provides technical assistance to direct reports and associates for best practice resolution of safety, quality, and performance
• Monitors and enforces all OSHA and Company safety regulations and policies. Leads the safety programs for the Maintenance Departments through development and execution of safe practices and operating procedures to minimize the occurrence and severity of workplace accidents.  Assists in the investigation of EH&S incidents. Ensure all Maintenance Team Members meet regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, and TTB regulations
• Meets and exceeds internal customer expectations through management of the Plant Maintenance department to achieve 95% operational uptime in support of delivering product to the customer that meets quality standards and is delivered on time and within budget
• Oversee assigned Capital Projects on time and within budget. Lead continuous improvement efforts across the Maintenance Department, accomplishing the production needs within safety, quality, budgetary, and regulatory guidelines. Develop team members and implements operational improvements. Evaluates production efficiency and cost; plans, organizes, directs improvements and corrective action plans. Establishes work schedules, best methods, standard operating procedures, and priorities to meet established efficiency and quality goals. Supports the development of PM programs, CMMS, and down-time tracking systems
• Conduct performance discussions with Plant Maintenance Supervisors to improve skills and performance of employees in the Plant Maintenance department
• Develops and maintains positive relationship with the Union, manage Step 1 process and participate in Step 2 grievance meetings
• Assure the grounds are maintained in good condition. Ensure that the facility condition continues to be improved upon in all areas of responsibility

Qualifications/Requirements

MUST

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline
• 5+ years relevant experience
• Requires Supervisory experience
• Proven root cause analysis and problem-solving training, techniques, and tools
• Strong knowledge of MS Office Products (Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Well versed in collaborating with operations, quality, and safety leadership to achieve operational goals
• Proven ability to develop others Excellent oral & written communication skills
• Strong analytical and technical skills

PREFERRED

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
• 10+ years relevant experience
• Master's Degree in related field
• Familiar with beverage processing and its associated equipment
