Qualifications: Preferred qualifications include 3+ years of K-8 teaching experience and 3+ years in educational publishing focused on K-12 literacy solutions.
Location: This is a remote position with travel required throughout California.
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation ranges for this position are between $110,000 - $150,000.
As the Director of Literacy, California, you’ll play an integral role in promoting, enhancing, and supporting our K-12 California ELA/ELD literacy product solutions. You’ll inform Product Development on key trends and issues impacting the CA Literacy and the English Language Development landscape, and support Sales with customer-facing literacy events. Your knowledge of The Science of Reading (evidence-based reading and writing practices) and English Language Development (CA ELA/ELD Framework) will inform ongoing sales strategy and future product enhancements. You’ll engage with district leaders, classroom teachers, and user groups, bringing together California educators to learn about evidence-based reading and writing practices while identifying key issues and needs unique to California. Such knowledge will inform the development of pre-sales workshops, blogs, podcasts, and other resources to support California literacy needs. As a thought leader, you’ll collaborate with the National Literacy Strategy team to inform/develop pre-sales strategy and product messaging, and provide internal pedagogical and program training.
This position reports to the Vice President of Literacy Strategy (West) and is remote, requiring travel throughout California, and at times, outside of the state.
