Job Description:
Summary
This is a training role that is made to prepare the Retail Sales Trainee for the Retail Account Manager role. The role primarily is to support sales initiatives and effectively drive the sales business. The RST will work with management to maintain customer relationships between sales, marketing and operations for all non-contractual customers. The RST must effectively service all customers in a safe, productive and professional manner in compliance with Ryder standards. The Retail Sales Trainee (RST) is a training role. Upon successful participation in the training program, the RST is eligible to interview for open Retail Account Manager (RAM) roles. Upon completion of the program and certification, if no RAM or otherwise qualified role is available AND the RST is meeting performance standards, the employee may remain in the RST role up to 12-months OR until a RAM or another qualified role is available (whichever comes first). Once a RAM or another qualified role is available, the certified RST must interview for that available role. If promotion to the role of Retail Account Manager (or other role) does not happen prior to the expiration of the 12-mos completion period, the RST role will be vacated due to end of assignment unless an exception applies. For exception, based on continued high performance, no open roles and certification completion, a manager may extend the 12-month completion period an additional 6-months. The RST role is an at-will position, meaning that the Company or RST can terminate the employment relationship at any time, for any reason or no reason at all, with or without cause.
Essential Functions
Understand and learn the basics of Torque by Ryder, the brand and the products/services.
Establish and maintain friendly and professional relationships with customers to increase sales and selling.
Effectively communicate with the RAM, DOS on daily priorities.
Train and job shadow with RAM, DNA, NCSA team, & Operations team.
Meet daily KPI focused on the following areas: sales, new accounts, customer retention and marketing calls.
Support the team with audits, blitz, and marketing calls to effectively drive the sales business.
Keep an updated and accurate list of prospects and accounts within Salesforce
Analyze and qualify prospective accounts within Salesforce
Conduct initial contact and subsequent sales calls to accounts, selling and establishing relationships necessary to produce first time and repeat business
Implement sales strategies
Create and maintain customer and prospective relationships
Travel as necessary to cover territory and fulfill any other responsibilities
Keep current on the competitive activity in the area
Additional Responsibilities
Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
The candidate must have an outgoing sales personality, excellent communication and organizational skills, a strong technical aptitude and demonstrate leadership skills required
The candidate should show proficiency and confidence in both speech and demeanor required
Valid driver's license, safe driving record, and ability to drive required
Ability to relocate required
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business administration or similar field required
1 year or more in Customer Service with issue resolution experience preferred
Noncommercial Driver License CLASS E required
