Position Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer II is responsible for helping to drive cost reduction activities through process improvements to directly impact the overall performance objectives for the company and compliance to AS9100 and NADCAP requirements and/or division. This position significantly impacts Regal Rexnord’s ability in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, and is located onsite at our facility in Simi Valley, CA.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Engineering, Quality, Operations, Planning, Purchasing and Marketing Team to ensure we deliver a successful project, on time, at acceptable revenues, with zero quality defects.
Maintain ownership of process development activities and Engineering projects across all functional lines and operating sites.
Manage projects tightly to detailed master program schedules and milestones. Coordinate schedule compliance for all deliverables. Manage impact of material and delivery schedules to the operational aspects of the business.
Participate in RBS events (the company’s operating management system based on the Toyota Production System and the Strategy Deployment Process - advanced Hoshin Planning methodology).
Develop, improve and maintain processes.
Create and maintain process definition packages, procedures, engineering standards, tooling, and work instructions. Support development of process validation packages.
Lead in Identifying & driving continuous improvement opportunities within the facilities and at our supplier’s locations.
Serve as technical expert and lead technical discussions with stakeholders regarding manufacturing of Regal Rexnord Aerospace products to provide/improve customer satisfaction.
Contribute to the breakthrough process development.
Reduce scrap and non-conformances by eliminating waste and variation in all forms.
Optimize productivity through efficient, ergonomic and safe workstation and process designs.
Required Qualifications
Requires Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related degrees
3 + years of Engineering Work Experience in the field of manufacturing in a CNC machining and grinding environment
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
General working knowledge of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools (including SPC, GR&R, DOE, FMEA, Control Plans, DMAIC, FAI, Cost of Quality).
Strong customer service orientation/ high level of interpersonal skills.Â
Capable of working and leading within a team structure.
Detail oriented and self-motivated.
Good writing/administrative skills, including computer skills.
Working knowledge of engineering part drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
Experience in root cause analysis and formal problem-solving techniques.
Demonstrated success in the ability to consistently multitask.
Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management.
Capable of occasional travel to customers and other plants
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of 3D Solid Modeling software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, CREO, and/or CATIA.
Previous experience with bearings and/or mechanical assemblies.
Six Sigma Green Belt.
Background in Inspection methods and tools.
Experience working in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment.
Expected Salary: $75,000 - $110,000 a year.
The salary range provided is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation for this position. Salary is dependent on a multitude of factors, including but not limited to the physical worksite location, the geographic market of that location, candidate's skill set, level of experience, education and internal peer compensation comparisons among other potential factors.
