Staff Machine Learning Engineer
Skills
- Applied ML expertise in information retrieval, forecasting, recommendation systems or related areas
- Production ML deployment experience on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Strong proficiency in Python, Spark, and SQL
- Hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch (JAX a plus)
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems and MLOps practices
- Strong communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end ML lifecycle: data exploration, model development, deployment, monitoring, and continuous optimization.
- Design and implement scalable, production-ready models for monetization, pricing optimization, forecasting, and recommendations.
- Run experimentation and research to improve customer insights, search, and listing experiences using modern ML/AI techniques.
- Deploy models at scale using cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and MLOps practices.
- Mentor and guide a team of machine learning engineers on best practices for modeling, deployment, and optimization.
- Collaborate with product, analytics, data engineering, and leadership to identify high-impact opportunities and translate them into ML solutions.
Education
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Relevant graduate-level coursework or research in ML, recommender systems, forecasting, or causal methods
