I’ve got a master’s and still can’t land a tech job. So part of me wonders what the job market would look like without that added competition.
If H1Bs go, the roles might not stay in the US. They'll just move the work to cheaper countries.
I get the frustration. But also… I’ve worked with some brilliant H1B folks who pulled way more weight than others on the team.
ppl love to scapegoat H1Bs but don’t wanna talk about companies requiring 10+ years for junior roles and paying trash.
I’ve applied to roles where I meet every single requirement and still didn’t even get a callback. So idk if “freeing up” jobs really fixes anything if the system's broken.
Removing H1Bs doesn’t magically mean Americans get those jobs. Companies still want cheap labor, and if they can't get it through visas, they’ll outsource overseas instead.

Been seeing a lot of chatter about h1b layoffs coming soon, especially after all the fraud stories. GROK on twitter said removing h1bs could free up 250k jobs for americans.
