Not gonna lie, Iโve been scraping by doing survey sites, AI labeling, and the occasional writing gig. Itโs messy and takes hustle, but at least I donโt have to be on the phone getting yelled at
i do transcription and sometimes user testing. Itโs not the best money in the world but at least I can do it in bed at 2am without talking to anyone. You just have to be okay with inconsistent work and hunting for new gigs sometimes
iโm in the same boat and honestly itโs a mix of things for meโsome part-time email support work (~15 hrs/week, no calls), plus occasional content moderation gigs. Nothing glamorous but it pays the bills and I can work late nights if I want
I do AI data labeling. Pay varies a lot but 100% no calls and super flexible hours. Good for filling gaps if you donโt want to talk to humans.
Honestly Iโve done a mix of AI labeling, survey sites, and light VA stuff that are nonphone or phone jobs
Iโm doing part-time email support ~15 hrs/week and some freelance research gigs. Both let me pick hours as long as I hit deadlines. It took a while to find decent clients, but once you get them itโs manageable. Definitely possible to avoid calls and keep it flexible!
Iโm juggling a few things right now:
Super cobbled-together but it keeps me afloat at ~20 hrs/week.
Totally feel you on avoiding the call center nightmare ๐ฉ Iโve been doing freelance editing + part-time customer support via email only (no calls). Around 20 hrs/week and I get to set my schedule as long as I hit daily ticket targets. Payโs not amazing but beats phones
Iโm doing transcription about 10โ15 hrs/week. Itโs slow going at first but you can pick your own hours, no calls at all
I do part-time virtual assistant work for a couple of small business owners - mostly email management and calendar stuff, all async, around 15โ20 hrs/week. Itโs not amazing pay but solid enough and super flexible. Also tried AI data labeling (Remotasks, Toloka) when I wanted something even more chill with no calls at all, though rates vary.
same boat as u tbh. ended up doing captioning work for online courses. pays $20/hr, no calls, just deadlines. itโs nice to just throw headphones on and go.
been doing part-time design work on Canva for small biz owners. logos, social posts, simple stuff. async most of the time unless someone needs revisions fast.
I write short product reviews + do simple SEO gigs on the side. found some solid clients last year and stuck w/ them. only like 10 hrs/week but pays decent.
try text-based customer support gigs. some companies let u work 4-hour shifts, no voice calls. I do 3 days a week just for some side cash.
I do virtual assistant stuff for a coachโmostly emails, scheduling, uploading to Notion. 15 hrs a week and she lets me pick my hours ๐ zero calls except our weekly check-in.

iโm in this weird in-between spot where I canโt commit to full-time hours but still really need to earn something. looking for part-time remote work, ideally 10โ25 hrs/week, flexible schedule, and minimal calls if possible ๐
so Iโm wondering: who here is making part-time remote work actually work? are you doing admin/VA stuff, AI data tagging, tutoring, transcription, customer support (but likeโฆ light support lol)? bonus if you can pick your own hours or work async.
iโve done some freelance writing before but the pay is all over the place. also tried a couple โremote jobsโ that ended up being call center hell ๐ฉ just not for me.
