ReadMe is looking for a Demand Generation Marketer to get more people to discover, try, and fall in love with our product. You'll lead creative, developer-first campaigns that blend storytelling, experimentation, and thoughtful execution. One week, you might be amplifying a blog post or getting the word out about a new AI feature. The next, youāre planning a memorable event (with an abundance of owl plushies), launching a partner campaign, or testing out new channels to bring more startups into the fold.
Youāll help make sure our product updates donāt just ship, but get seen. And youāll do it all while erring on the side of whimsy (one of our values)ā¦finding playful ways to connect with developers and building real relationships along the way.
We're a small team of humans (and one owl ) working together to shape the developer landscape through documentationāand weāre growing! Thatās where you come in.
ReadMe helps companies build beautiful, personalized, and interactive developer hubs. If youāve ever visited the developer docs for Apple or Notion, youāve used ReadMe! We love what we do because itās so much more than just docs. Weāre providing tools for teams to create and manage beautiful documentation with ease. You can read more about what itās like to work at ReadMe on our careers page.
We've written on our blog in the past about how we interview, and feel free to browse our other blog posts as well if it strikes your fancy!
Help grow our developer community through meetups, virtual events, 1:1 interactions, office hours, and swag-driven connection moments. We want every touchpoint to feel personalāwhether thatās mailing out plush owls or sending confetti cannons to new signups.
Create and distribute product-led contentāblog posts, tutorials, changelogs, newsletters, guides, and social threadsāthat developers actually want to read. You'll get our point-of-view out there and amplify product updates in fun, strategic ways.
Help amplify our brand (and our Founder Gregās) voice across platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn, Bluesky, as well as via podcasts. Whether itās positioning ourselves against competitors or co-marketing with cool new startups, we want people to feel the ReadMe vibe.
Plan and run demand generation campaigns across a mix of channels (social, email, events, partnerships, ads, and more). Youāll help us test and scale what works while experimenting with new leversāoutbound sequences, startup-friendly plans, partner co-marketing, and more.
Collaborate with Sales to craft programs that drive pipeline āintegrating content, outbound assets, product marketing, and lead generation into a cohesive strategy.
Excited to operate at the intersection of customer growth, creativity, and technical storytellingāand always looking for clever ways to spark conversations within the developer community.
A strong generalist who loves wearing multiple hats: content writer, campaign planner, swag wrangler, launch lead, and event host.
Curious and scrappyāeager to test fun ideas, improve existing flows, or build new playbooks that get customers excited about ReadMe.
Comfortable talking about technical products (even if youāre not writing the code), and confident adapting language and tone depending on the audience.
Experienced on small teams or startups, where thereās a lot to build and not a lot of red tape.
Bonus Points
Youāve used tools like HubSpot, GA, and Salesforce.
Youāve written code, contributed to a dev community, or worked in a technical environment.

We canāt wait to read your resume and (hopefully personality-filled) cover letter! Let us know what excites you about developer products, and help us get to know you better.
If we think we might be a good fit for you, weāll set up a 30 minute phone chat with Justina, our Head of Marketing. Sheāll tell you more about the role, and get a chance to hear about your experiences.
Next will be a second 30 minute phone interview with Pat, ReadMeās COO, where heāll dive a bit more into your background.
Then weāll invite you to an "onsite" interview conducted over Zoom! These usually take 3.5 to 5 hours including an hour break in between. We are able to be flexible with the schedule and split it up over two days if that works best for you! We start with a 15-minute get-to-know-you with the team so you can meet the people youāll be working with, and then have you talk with people one-on-one later on.
Weāll let you know how things went within a week! If it still seems like a good fit all around, weāll extend you an offer. If not, we will update you to let you know so you arenāt left hanging.
