POSITION SPECIFICS
Penn State is currently seeking a Marketing and Communications Specialist in supporting Penn State Alumni Association (PSAA). As a member of the Division of Development and Alumni Relations, you can play an integral role in Penn State’s future and contribute to one of the most successful fundraising and alumni relations operations in the country.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Membership Marketing and working closely with Penn State Alumni Association as well as other partners, this Marketing and Communications Specialist will:
Will play a key role in executing marketing strategies that connect alumni to the University and to each other, provide valued services to members, and support the University’s mission of teaching, research and service.
Articulate Penn State’s needs, ambitions, and values through excellent informal and formal communications.
Collaborate with teams on storytelling efforts, solicitation campaigns and event promotion.
Create digital and video content to support marketing and awareness campaigns, including social media, email, and web content.
Shoot, edit and produce video content in collaboration with other Alumni Association team members including writers, graphic designers, and others.
Write and edit content for programs and initiatives, including scripts, press releases, email content, social media posts, web content and advertisements.
Use the association’s communication platforms to implement email campaigns and engagement programs that motivate action.
Gather and report on campaign metrics and relevant analytics.
Review draft marketing materials for compliance with university branding and editorial guidelines.
Work with external vendors for printing, video production, photography and other needs.
The successful candidate will have:
Ability to use Microsoft Office/Office 365 and Adobe applications (Premiere, Photoshop), as well as basic photography and video skills.
Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills.
The ability to create and maintain an inclusive and respectful environment for all students and colleagues.
Understand how to produce content for different audiences and be able to work on cross-functional, fast-paced teams with multiple deadlines, stakeholders and complexity.
Experience developing action-oriented marketing content.
Working knowledge of web-based marketing platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo, Mailchimp, etc.) and project management software.
A proven ability to self-motivate and work both independently and as part of a team.
A commitment to professional development, learning, and being mentored.

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $46,400.00 - $67,300.00.
