POSITION SPECIFICS
Penn State is currently seeking Development Assistant in supporting the College of Agricultural Sciences. As a member of the Division of Development and Alumni Relations, you can play an integral role in Penn State’s future and contribute to one of the most successful fundraising and alumni relations operations in the country.
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Stewardship and working closely with major gift officers and the senior director of development and other development staff in support of the overall development and alumni related functions, maximizing fund raising efforts and success. The Development Assistant position engages in prospect and project management, collects and compiles data, provides administrative support, serves as a liaison between the unit and central DDAR, and assists in identifying and cultivating potential donors.
Work collaboratively with the development staff and unit liaisons to maximize fund raising efforts and success
Articulate Penn State’s needs, ambitions, and values, including diversity, equity, and inclusion, through excellent informal and formal communications;
Prepare, provide, and review various reports for major gift officers and the senior director of development; support donor tracking and participation and ensure up-to-date database record management
Provide assistance in the development of prospect strategies; review monthly pledge reminders
Support annual fund-raising goals and functions; assist with annual planning and overseeing goal setting, tracking, and updating the solicitation process; coordinate gift agreements between the university and the donor
Create and prepare data and reports, including fundraising progress reports
Manage and submit all database list requests; manage coding in database to help identify proper alumni, donor, stewardship, event, engagement activity
Lead the process for donor naming opportunities
Respond to requests for information as needed
The successful candidate will have:
A dedication to and understanding of the skills required to build relationships with communities;
Experience in Microsoft Office 365;
Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills;
A proven ability to self-motivate and work both independently and as part of a team;
A commitment to professional development, learning, and being mentored.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS)
2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $38,300.00 - $55,500.00.
