Responsibilities
- Greet clients and pets, complete sign-in and check-in processes, and verify appointment details
- Manage incoming and outgoing client communications including appointment scheduling, reminders, and follow-ups
- Support clinical flow by escorting clients to exam rooms and relaying information to clinical staff
- Process payments, manage invoicing, and maintain accurate appointment and billing records
- Explain common vaccines, procedures, lab tests, and basic veterinary terminology to clients
- Handle sensitive conversations (e.g., end-of-life care, financial discussions) with empathy and professionalism
- Maintain a clean, organized, and client-ready reception area, including occasional pet-related cleanup
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Veterinary assistant certificate or related coursework preferred
