Skills
- Programming experience with Java (primary) or similar backend languages
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with messaging systems (Kafka, JMS, or similar)
- Unix/Linux command-line proficiency
- Source control (Git) and CI/CD tooling experience
- Understanding of trade lifecycle, post-trade workflows, or financial instruments (equities preferred)
- Debugging, logging and monitoring best practices
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain middle-office applications for equities trade processing and reconciliation
- Implement features across the trade lifecycle including enrichment, validation, matching, and settlement interfaces
- Integrate systems with market data feeds, clearing/settlement partners, and internal downstream services
- Write automated unit and integration tests and follow CI/CD practices for reliable delivery
- Investigate and resolve production incidents and support on-call rotations as required
- Collaborate closely with traders, operations, risk and other engineering teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Optimize performance and ensure data accuracy for high-throughput trade flows
- Produce clear documentation for designs, runbooks, and operational procedures
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
