Windows Desktop System Administrator

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Windows Desktop System Administrator to work at USSTRATCOM - Offutt AFB, Nebraska.

 

What you will do:

• Remain current on hardware and software advancements
• Assist in designing systems and solutions to satisfy customer needs
• Verify system performance after hardware and software installation
• Manage product/service issue resolution and upgrades
• Handle the administration and support of print services
• Manage the operation, configuration, and maintenance of virtual machines and their management consoles (Treidici, Wyse Management Suite (WMS), 10Zig Management Console)
• Diagnose technical problems, escalate unresolved issues according to established procedures, and suggest potential alternative courses of action
• Document problem resolutions with precision and detail
• Manage and track work progress using Remedy and Service Now ticketing systems
• Research and report on technical capabilities of company products and competing solutions
• Develop and improve systems and system-oriented products to enhance functionality, efficiency, and reliability
• Prepare and deliver system analysis to inform sales force and customers on product features and benefits
• Coordinates equipment projects from conception to completion, integrating engineering and programming knowledge with the use of sophisticated instruments and computers
• Advise management on industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance existing technology and its application
• Develops and maintains technical documentation, including manuals, drawings, system specifications, installation records, calibration data, maintenance logs, and quality control information
• Collaborate effectively with team members while providing friendly, efficient and professional customer service in support of DoD customers in a demanding environment

Qualifications

What you will need:

• 0 years with BS/BA; 4 years commensurate experience in a DoD environment in lieu of degree
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving
• Experience in laptop/PC hardware, software, peripherals and maintenance 
• Aptitude and initiative to learn existing and new technical concepts
• Active TS/SCI clearance is required
• Security+ certification 
• Ability to respond to emergency situations with after-hours support

• Knowledgeable of DISA STIG requirements for Windows-based workstations

• Familiarity with DoD Information Assurance Concepts/Process

Target Salary Range

$51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
