The Work Methods Specialist supports PAR Electric’s commitment to safety, efficiency, and operational excellence by developing, implementing, and maintaining standardized work methods and best practices across all field operations. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that crews perform their work safely, consistently, and in compliance with company standards, client requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
The Work Methods Specialist collaborates closely with operations leadership, safety professionals, engineers, and field personnel to evaluate and improve construction methods and procedures throughout PAR Electric’s projects.
Develop, document, and maintain standardized work methods, job procedures, and construction practices for transmission, distribution, substation, and specialty projects.
Conduct field observations and job site assessments to ensure methods align with safety policies, client specifications, and productivity goals.
Collaborate with Safety, Training, and Operations teams to integrate best practices into training materials and new hire onboarding programs.
Research and evaluate new tools, technologies, and equipment to identify opportunities for safer and more efficient work execution.
Provide technical guidance and support to field crews and project managers on safe and effective work procedures.
Develop and deliver presentations, demonstrations, and training sessions to communicate updated work methods.
Analyze job performance data to identify trends, challenges, and improvement opportunities.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, client standards, and PAR Electric safety policies.
Participate in incident investigations as needed to assess potential method improvements or corrective actions.
Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and innovation across the organization.
Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field preferred. Equivalent field experience will be considered.
Experience: 3–5 years of experience in electrical utility construction, safety, or work methods development. Field experience in transmission, distribution, or substation construction strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of electrical utility construction techniques, equipment, and industry safety standards.
Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, practical procedures and training materials.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with digital documentation tools and field data systems is a plus.
