Software Quality Engineer

We’re hiring a software quality engineer to own and evolve the build systems that connect our on-device and cloud platforms. You’ll design and maintain scalable, reliable, and flexible pipelines that improve product quality and make our teams more effective. You’ll work across a wide range of tech stacks, making the right tradeoffs to deliver quickly while building the strong foundations needed for long-term growth.

You’ll collaborate closely with product, platform, and hardware teams, bringing both breadth of technical knowledge and the judgment to adapt solutions to each platform’s needs.

This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

In this role, you will:

• Own and improve build systems across interconnected on-device and cloud platforms.

• Drive software quality and developer productivity at scale.

• Build flexible, scalable foundations while adapting to specific platform requirements.

• Stand up new software systems from scratch and take them through production scale.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth, high-quality releases.

You might thrive in this role if you:

• 7+ years professional software engineering experience, with a focus on build systems, infrastructure, or quality engineering.

• Proven track record driving software quality and developer productivity in complex environments.

• Comfortable working across diverse tech stacks and platforms.

• Experience taking systems from early-stage development through production scale.

• Strong judgment in balancing speed, quality, and long-term maintainability.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with both on-device and cloud build pipelines.

• Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment systems at scale.

• Background in performance optimization, automated testing, and release engineering.
