The Nuna Enterprise Engineering team is building a consumer facing portal to manage communication and PHI data transactions between Nuna and our health systems, care team partners and patient focused mobile application. Capabilities include support for multi-channel CRM, CPaaS, BI tooling, EHR integrations.
We leverage a diverse set of tools and skill-sets in a dynamic, fast-paced, cohesive engineering team with opportunities to delve deeper into multiple areas of technical expertise - architecture, data security, full-stack web applications, developer operations and much more.
Our work spans across multiple internal and external teams, including : Product, InfraSec, Trust, Legal+Compliance, Clinical and more. We are a small yet mighty engineering team at Nuna. A successful candidate is a self-motivated, collaborative, hands-on problem solver that readily works across teams and regularly meets ambitious, often self- defined, delivery deadlines, and challenges his/her/their colleagues to raise the bar.
In this role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our overall architecture and strategy. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a highly skilled team of engineers and health data experts. Your work will directly impact our ability to provide critical data to our customers in a format that they can understand and rely on.
Your responsibilities will include:
Building innovative and beautiful data visualizations that illuminate the path towards higher quality care at lower cost
Building performant, well-documented, scalable APIs that can answer the complex questions our users have about their data
Partnering with other engineers to solve complex business and engineering problems
Designing schemas in partnership with the data engineers and health data experts that can quickly serve results and generate reports
Building a well-tested, continuously-deployable, and high-quality codebase that supports developer velocity and exceptional reliability
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
Passionate about our mission: improving healthcare access and affordability for all
Knowledge of React (state management, call backs, etc) and experience building component based UIs
Familiarity with backend languages such as Java or Kotlin
Curiosity for learning, being a self-starter who is eager to try new things
Experience in full stack development and open to being language agnostic
2+ years of experience in a full-time software engineering role
Ability to write clearly and document their ideas
Passionate about writing high-quality code
Experience with creating APIs using service-oriented system architecture
Understanding of automated testing concepts in web apps and the ability to consistently apply them
Knowledge of database fundamentals like indexing, SQL queries, schema migrations, and managing backups
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud technologies such as terraform or AWS
Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing
Experience with data in healthcare, fintech, or other similar industries.
Experience working on compliant and secure systems, in partnership with audit, legal, and security

We take into account an individual’s qualifications, skillset, and experience in determining final salary. This role is eligible for health insurance, life insurance, retirement benefits, participation in the company’s equity program, paid time off, including vacation and sick leave. The expected salary range for this position is $161,500 to $190,000. The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, and skillset.
