Job Description
Reporting to the College President, the VPAA is the college’s Chief Academic Officer and is a member of the President’s executive leadership team. The VPAA oversees the design, organization, delivery, supervision, evaluation, assessment, and fiscal management of all credit-bearing and non-credit programs. Working in collaboration with Student Services and Finance and Administrative Services to promote and fulfill TMCC’s Mission and Core Values, the Vice President manages a budget of over $25 million and provides effective leadership for all academic affairs at the institution. The position leads a team of 861 employees, including 5 Academic Deans, the Associate Dean of Assessment & Planning, the Director of Workforce Development, and the Associate Dean of the Learning Commons, who oversees the Library, Tutoring, and WebCollege.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
Minimum of seven (7) years progressively responsible administrative experience in an Academic Affairs related discipline
The equivalent of two (2) years full-time classroom teaching experience at the college level
Demonstrated ability to successfully cultivate, expand, and sustain productive relationships with students, faculty, staff, and external constituents
Experience with assessment, workforce development, and developmental programs
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Desired Credentials and Experiences
Earned doctorate in a traditional academic discipline from a regionally accredited institution
Three (3) or more years of full-time community college teaching experience
Demonstrated commitment to excellent teaching, mentoring, and undergraduate research
Experience with curriculum development, instructional delivery, and assessment
Demonstrated understanding of community college operations
Experience in grant writing and obtaining external funding
Experience with collective bargaining agreements and shared governance environments
Understanding of the role of a community college in a state system
Proponent of professional development for faculty and staff
Position Responsibilities
Serve on the President's Leadership Team and college governance groups
Collaborate with Leadership Team colleagues on projects, grants, and initiatives
Lead the Academic Leadership Team and chair its regular meetings
Oversee all credit and non-credit programs and academic policies and procedures
Supervise and support 10 direct reports; author and deliver annual performance evaluations
Review all academic faculty evaluations and tenure-track progress reports
Manage the faculty tenure application process and review all applications
Ensure that program Advisory Committees meet and report regularly
Work closely with Deans and HR on hiring and personnel issues
Deliver the VPAA’s monthly administrative report to Faculty Senate
Maintain excellent relations with faculty and staff across the college and our community
Attend frequent college events and regional meetings; serve on local workforce boards
Manage course fees, staff and operational budgets, purchasing, hiring, and travel expenses
Identify space needs and instructional growth areas with Facilities and Academic Deans
Oversee college and programmatic accreditation efforts and NC SARA membership
Review and approve all curricular changes and respond to Program Unit Reviews
Oversee academic program proposals and changes and present them to NSHE
Represent TMCC to the NSHE Workforce Committee
Attend all Board of Regents quarterly meetings in person
Manage the Regents' Award Selection Process
Attend the annual meeting of our regional accreditor, the NWCCU
Represent Nevada to the Western Alliance of Community College Academic Leaders (WICHE)
Other duties as assigned

Salary and Benefits Information
Salary: $160,861 - $212,676. Initial salary placement will be dependent on education level and years of experience
