Skills
- Advanced proficiency in C# and/or PHP
- Strong object-oriented design and design patterns knowledge
- Advanced database design, optimization, and performance tuning
- Experience designing and architecting scalable, distributed systems
- Solid knowledge of security and compliance best practices (OWASP, PCI)
- Proven experience with code reviews and maintaining code quality
- Experience debugging and enhancing complex legacy systems
- Familiarity with CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment processes
- Strong communication and mentoring abilities
- Experience with logging, monitoring, and alerting systems
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain core billing and invoicing systems using C# and PHP
- Own architectural and design decisions for billing system components
- Lead technical discussions and conduct code reviews to ensure maintainability and performance
- Mentor and support growth of junior engineers
- Improve CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to proactively detect and resolve issues
- Optimize database queries and system architecture for scale and performance
- Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect payment and merchant data (PCI compliance)
- Communicate status, risks, and technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, and QA for successful releases
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks throughout the SDLC
- Provide technical feedback and resolutions to escalated support issues
- Research and evaluate new technologies to improve system performance and developer productivity
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
