New Home Star, in partnership with Communities by Grainger, is seeking a motivated sales leader to join the Communities by Grainger team in Sycamore, IL! Communities by Grainger is a custom home builder that specializes in 55+ communities in Sycamore and Genoa, IL. They design and deliver beautiful homes that offer a worry-free 55+ lifestyle, without sacrificing quality materials and expert workmanship, as they believe that everything built should challenge the status quo and that customer satisfaction should be the top priority. The needs of each resident are taken into consideration when designing a custom home, balancing flexibility with customization with the stability of best practices.

New Home Star is looking to find a driven New Home Sales Manager to join this builder's close-knit team to support the sales and marketing efforts in their Sycamore and Genoa 55+ communities. This is your chance to help lead sales performance, mentor a talented team, and shape a community—all while advancing your own career in a supportive, tight-knit team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Development: Lead the sales team through ongoing training initiatives to enhance team effectiveness and engagement.
  • Mentorship & Sales Enablement: Assist the Sales Leader in providing consistent support and guidance to the sales team to achieve and exceed sales goals.
  • Lead & Close: Guide buyers through the new home sales process with expertise.
  • Sales Development: Continuous training to sharpen your skills and product knowledge.
  • Marketing & Outreach: Build brand awareness and drive traffic through local networking and marketing initiatives.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Use CRM tools to track leads and manage sales activities.
  • Community Leadership: Shape builder decisions through strategic, expert-level community management.

Requirements:

  • Has a positive attitude, is trainable, and is driven to succeed.
  • Ability to work independently on a competitive sales floor as well as work in a team environment.
  • Able to work Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Manage a flexible, adaptable schedule to connect with clients around their availability.
  • Proficient computer knowledge/skills (i.e., MS Office Suite such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • At least 2-5+ years of leadership, management, and/or training experience is required.
  • 2-5+ years of proven success in new home sales is required.
  • Experience working with title companies, in property management, or with mortgages is a plus.
  • Be solely focused on representing and selling Communities By Grainger homes.
  • An active IL real estate license is preferred, but not required.

Benefits:

  • This is a W2, exempt position that offers 401k matching and health benefits.
  • Competitive base salary starting at $60,000 plus commission, with opportunities for higher starting pay based on your proven experience and expertise. Estimated earning potential in year 1 is $125k+.
