- Proven leadership and people management experience
- Modern web development: React, JavaScript/TypeScript
- Backend development with Java (Spring) and API design
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS preferred)
- Experience working in regulated/healthcare environments and handling PHI
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of 6–8 engineers, driving career development and technical growth
- Define and execute technical roadmap and architectural decisions
- Manage project delivery, resource allocation, sprint planning, and Agile processes
- Establish and maintain engineering best practices, code quality, testing, and documentation
- Collaborate with product and design to translate requirements into timelines and deliverables
- Participate in coding, code reviews, and hands-on engineering efforts
- Hire and scale the engineering team; manage performance and conduct reviews
- Balance technical debt with new feature development and maintain compliance for PHI systems
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Relevant professional experience may substitute for formal degree
