Associate Data Center Engineer (Remote)
Skills
- Minimum 5 years estimating experience in telecom, wireless, or tech infrastructure
- Deep knowledge of low-voltage systems, wireless network design, IT infrastructure, BMS, and EPMS
- Proficiency reading and interpreting architectural, MEP, and technology drawings
- Experience with estimating tools such as Bluebeam, Accubid, PlanSwift, and advanced Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with CSI divisions for telecom, security, and control systems
- Ability to travel up to 40% for site surveys and client meetings
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed cost estimates from RFPs, construction drawings, and site survey data
- Interpret and analyze architectural, MEP, and technology drawings for telecom, wireless, BMS, and EPMS
- Perform quantity take-offs and produce labor/material pricing for structured cabling, network systems, wireless APs, and related equipment
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, project management, and vendors to ensure bid accuracy and competitiveness
- Evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals for scope and pricing alignment
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and post-bid clarifications as needed
- Maintain and update unit cost databases, labor productivity factors, and vendor pricing
- Provide clear scope documentation for project handoff to project management teams
- Complete required security awareness training and escalate identified security risks
- Perform other duties as assigned to support bid and project success
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Information Technology, or related field preferred or equivalent experience
- Relevant technical certifications encouraged (RCDD, PMP, BICSI)
