Senior Data Engineer - Enterprise Initiatives

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for leading the delivery of enterprise data projects at DPR. Serving as a subject matter expert, this role provides technical guidance on projects and incident resolution, acts as an internal escalation point, drives continuous improvement in team operations, and ensures consistent progress toward strategic objectives.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners and data consumers.
• Lead, develop, and mentor the Data Engineering team within a specific business area or workgroup. Provide technical leadership across data technologies including data extraction, transformation, and integration, while unblocking team progress, reviewing designs, and coaching engineers.
• Partner with strategic customers to understand their vision and ensure future requirements are incorporated into the platform roadmap.
• Own the full lifecycle of data solutions, including development, testing, deployment, and maintenance, across SQL, Snowflake, Data Lakes, Data Marts, and Operational Data Stores used for analytics and integrations.
• Manage and triage data issues, analyze edge cases, and communicate potential data quality concerns to both the team and business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the team to apply DPR’s best practices and processes, ensuring design and code reviews are embedded in all solutions.
• Partner with the Analyst team to design, build, and manage data models, data flows, and integration patterns across the data lake, data warehouse, and consumption layers.
• Contribute to the architecture and design of scalable data systems to support integration and analytics needs.
• Translate business requirements into clear technical documentation and communicate them effectively to the team.
